Do I Need a Brokerage Account?

You do not connect a brokerage account to Options Cafe, and we never link to, read, or trade in your broker account. The course is purely educational, and the trade alerts are simply emails.

To get value from Options Cafe, all you need is a device with a web browser. That's it for the learning side.

That said, if you want to actually place options trades yourself, you'll need your own account with an options-approved broker — for example Tradier, Schwab/thinkorswim, Fidelity, or Tastytrade. The course even includes a lecture on choosing an options broker to help you decide.
